Well today was one of the days that no one wants to see when its time to go fishing . The wind was blowing from the South West at 20-25mph and rough. I had Mr Dan and Mr. Russ in from North Louisiana . It was to rough to go out to where I have been catching the big fish so we hit the banks of the bays that we could and the Bayous that were calm. The wind had everything turned up and muddy. I was in touch with a few friends who also guide to see how everybody was doing and it seemed to be tough all around with the conditions. After fishing what seemed to be 100 spots and crossing some rough waters we picked up a mixed bag of fish for 11 fish . I’m not gonna sugar coat it , it was a rough day of fishing but we had a good time and caught some fish. Not every day can be a good day . (wouldn’t that be nice). I’m back on the water Monday the weather looks like its gonna be better so we ought to go fishing. To get in on some good fishing in Lafitte, Louisiana give me a call and COME FISH A NAWLINS GOOD TIME

Today I fished Mr. Steve Gruber , his son Chase ,and his friend Alex from Minnisota .The morning started off slow and cold with a cold front blowing 20 mph ,not the ideal conditions for fishing . After searching around a little we got on some fish and put 11 nice reds in the box and a flounder . We caught quite a few red fish that were just short of the slot limit to keep. Lafitte Fishing Waters Closed
Monday, June 14th, 2010UPDATE June 14, 2010 – My fishing area in the inner waterways around New Orleans have just about all been closed by the Louisiana Dept. of Wildlife and Fisheries. We are now part of the BP prevention and clean up crew, and hope to have our waters clean again very soon, with a healthy marshland and good fishing.
APRIL 17 -MARCH 17, 2010: LAFITTE RED FISH
Monday, May 17th, 2010Well it has been a while since I’ve written a report but I going to try to keep on it from trip to trip. AS OF NOW WE ARE NOT AFFECTED BY THE CURRENT OIL SPILL IN THE GULF OF MEXICO. I’ve been fishing a good bit since my last report April 10 when I had my good friends in from Arkansas, since then I have fished April 17, 19, 21 and 22nd in deep water for the big bull reds and drum. Its always a good time reeling up those big fish but they have moved in and so did we. I started fishing in the inside water, lakes, bays and bayous on April 25th and 29th and on May 1, 5, 6, 8, 11, 14, 15, 16 and 17 and we have been doing really well on the inside—some days better than others—but all in all, the fishing has been good. We have been catching mostly red fish and drums, with a speck here and there. The winds during the last month haven’t let us get out and look for the specks. I’ve been fishing with gold spoons and spinner baits when the water is clear and fishing with market shrimp when needed. It has been a fun month and I have had some really good customers and we have had a lot of fun fishing together. To recap on the bold type above: We are not affected by the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. The media hasn’t really clarified what areas are affected and just state that south Louisiana’s coast has been covered in oil. The oil slick has stayed about 3 miles off the coast of Grand Isle and our fishing grounds are at least 30 miles north of Grand Isle. None of our waters have seen any kind of oil. I will be going back on the water on Friday May 21st and will try to have a report up that day.
APRIL 9 and 10 – ARKANSAS BOYS AND LAFITTE RED FISH
Sunday, April 11th, 2010I had some good friends come in from Arkansas to fish and go to an annual crawfish cook off. Mr. Johnny, Mr.Bill, Mr. John, Harvey, Dale, Travis and Steve arrived around 3pm Friday evening. With my boat and another friend of the group, Mr.Robert, and his boat, we loaded the crew up and went fishing. Got to the first spot and fish on. That’s the way I like it.
We fished with spinner baits with purple cocahoes with yellow tails. We fished till almost dark and ended up with 16 reds all around 18″-25″ perfect size for the grill. After cleaning the fish, they wanted to go eat at a local restaurant that we can get to by water. We loaded back in the boats and went have dinner. The next morning the guys wanted to ride out and try their luck at some of the big bull reds that Ive been catching. The ride was a little bumpy with the wind blowing 15-25mph, but we made it and caught all the big bull reds and drum that they wanted. After battling big fish and mother nature, we went to the crawfish cook-off and continued to enjoy the time that they are down.
Thanks guys! It’s always a fun time when y’all come down. And Thanks a bunch Mr.Robert for lending a hand and your boat. Fishing in Lafitte is picking up and will be good for quite some time.
