Good fishing is promoted by the warm winter here in New Orleans . The unseasonably warm weather has the fish active and cooperative . Mostly fishing for speckle trout right now but we are catching a few red fish as well. The specks are 12″-19″ in length and coming to the boat by way of artificial baits under a cork or tight line. We’ve been fishing the bays and lakes for these speckled beauties. With the water temps in the 60’s the fishing should stay pretty consistent .
So far this winter the fishing has been good and should stay that way as long as we don’t get any major cold fronts. February is shaping up to be a good month in the books . Mardi Gras is early this year and the weather has everyone looking to get some good fishing in while in town. I’m running multiple boats so I have plenty of opening for all.
I want to thank everyone who came out and fished with New Orleans Style Fishing Charters in 2016. It was because of y’all we were able to have a successful year of fishing. I made lots of new friends as well as got to catch up with some returning friends . I look for 2017 to be a great year as well and look forward to seeing every one out on the water having a great time fishing .
