This estuary is one of the best to fish for red fish and speckle trout. We fish all the back water marshes ,lakes,bay, and bayous of Lafitte.
March has been a productive month on the bayou so far ,with limits of red fish hitting the dock daily and happy customers in tow. The red fish have started their transition in to the back waters and I’ve been right behind them . I’ve been fishing in less than 3′ of water the last couple weeks . Mostly fishing with market shrimp under a popping cork or swimming soft plastics. Between these two methods ,the reds have had a hard time denying us any action.
